Didn't find the chandelier you wanted? Design your own!

That you can make a chandelier out of paper, wire or other materials probably won't surprise you. But what if you went straight to making a chandelier out of crystal, or customized a cast brass chandelier? You can choose from a wide range of colours and shapes of crystal trimmings, from many types of bowls for arms and other components.

How big is the right chandelier?

DIY crystal chandelier

If you want a unique chandelier to hang in your room, try building one yourself. What exactly can you choose from? With crystal chandeliers, you can choose from several colours of crystal trimmings from green and blue to pink and purple to yellow, honey, brown or smoke. In addition to the colour, you can also choose the desired shape. The most common are the almond-shaped fan and the oak leaf-shaped pendle, followed by drops, hooves, pyramids and spheres.

But the choice of components is not over yet. You can also choose from several types of crystal shoulder bowls. Do you like ornate or simpler pieces? With or without arches? Smooth ones with straight lines will be welcomed in modern and minimalist interiors, while richly cut bowls (cut PK500, high lead crystal), on the other hand, are suitable for more opulent and ornate spaces. We also offer enamel bowls with hand-painted flowers, or coloured bowls cut in opal.

Finally, choose whether you prefer polished brass (shiny yellow) or polished nickel (shiny silver) and your choice is over.

TIP: The colours stand out better on large crystal trimmings. Match their colour to your interior so that everything looks harmonious.

A cast brass chandelier to suit your taste

While you only have two finishes to choose from with a crystal chandelier, there are many more with a cast brass chandelier. However, it depends on how ornate the casting is and what the relief and design is. For example, the brass antique finish needs a distinctive relief so that the black colour evoking the antique effect can be well blended into the decoration of the brass casting. It cannot be applied to a smooth surface as it does not adhere.

Yellow or honey-coloured trimmings are suitable for the brass antique finish. So if you are looking for warm shades for your interior, these colours are the way to go. On the other hand, nickel antique finishes are best matched with trimmings in a light grey (smoke) colour.

TIP: The right choice of finish for a brass chandelier can be helped by e.g. handles on furniture or other similar interior details.

The right chandelier also includes a shade

Especially in the bedroom, shades are suitable for the chandelier to add a more intimate touch to the lighting. You can also use them in other rooms where the intensity of the light is not so important. Although the shade will take away from the intensity of the lighting, it will add a touch of luxury to the chandelier and accentuate its overall appearance. You can choose from two designs - a classic called chintz and a more luxurious organza - in several colours.
